Road Safety  

In 2006 345 people died in road accidents. 
Since the establishment of the State of Israel 29,585 people have died in road accidents.


Car crashes are the leading cause of permanent injury and death in young drivers.

Each year, more than 1.17 million people die in road crashes around the world.
Sixty-five percent of deaths involve pedestrians.
Thousands of teenagers die and hundreds of thousands are injured needlessly.

Drinking and Driving 

Millions of people die on the roads, worldwide, as a direct result of drinking and driving;  many others will be disabled for life; some will be unemployed as a result of their crime. In the U.S. every 30 minutes, someone is killed in an alcohol-related crash.  Alcohol was involved in 41 percent of fatal crashes and 7 percent of all police-reported crashes in 2001.
