| Chanukah is an 8 day holiday starting on the night of 25th of Kislev. Chanukah celebrates the triumphs of ancient Jewish heroes. This year, (2009), Chanukah starts on Friday night, December 11, and lasts for eight days. |

| Chanukah is a wonderful holiday of renewed dedication, faith, hope and spiritual light. It's a holiday that says: "Never lose hope." |

| In Chanukah we celebrate the victory of a small group called the Maccabees over the Syrian-Greeks who ruled over Israel. |
