The AMIT Network Salutes Kiryat Malachi

On Tuesday, April 5, 2005, all student council members of AMIT schools, accompanied by principals, teachers and Network administrators
(approximately 500 people), descended on Kiryat Malachi for a day
 of volunteering.

Over the course of the day, students engaged in various volunteering activities, such as in a charity organization, in a day center for seniors, painting stairwells and graffiti covered buildings, electricity repairs, educational activities in the city's kindergartens and schools, etc.

Later in the day, there was an exhibit of student art work on the theme of AMIT's 80th anniversary. 

The last part of the day was an awards ceremony.  Awards for volunteering and hesed activity, teachers of the year and employees of the year were given.
Ulpanat AMIT Be'er Sheva was awarded the School of the Year award for the 2004-2005 school year. 

This day was a culmination of acts of charity and kindness that are
performed throughout the school year by AMIT's approximately
15,000 students.

AMIT, a Religious Zionist Network of schools, has made volunteering
and hesed the cornerstone of its educational approach.

In a speech given by Adi Arieh, President of the Network-wide
Student Council, she said:
"We, members of the Network-wide Student Council, chose to
kindle in our members the recognition and understanding that
we are part of the Israeli society, that it is possible for us to
influence and change society.
                    You and I can change the world."
